    Peach Bourbon Sweet Ice Tea

    Sweet, refreshing, boozy… what more could you want in a summer cocktail? Oh, and some caffeine!? Sign me up! August is national peach month in the USA, and I figured why not provide you all with a classic cocktail so you can celebrate appropriately.

    While sweet tea is traditionally a southern drink, we do love it up here as well! Gabe drinks sweet tea wherever he can find it. And while we will fully admit we are not pros at making sweet tea, this drink does feel like a sip from the south.

    Unlike the majority of our other drink recipes, this drink does take some time to prep due to the cooling time required, so I suggest you begin making it at least 2 hours prior to consuming. I promise – it is worth it.

    Ingredients
      

    Tea Ingredients:

    • 7 cups water
    • 6 black tea bags

    Peach Simple Syrup Ingredients:

    • 1 ½ cups peaches chopped;
    • ¾ cup sugar in the raw
    • 1 cup water

    Drink Ingredients:

    • Brewed Tea
    • Peach Simple Syrup
    • 1 lemon juice
    • ½ cup mint
    • 5 cups ice
    • 1 cup bourbon

    Instructions
     

    • Bring 7 cups of water to a boil. Place tea bags into hot water and let steep for 15-20 minutes. Let cool for 30-60 minutes in the fridge.
    • Place peaches, sugar and 1 cup of water in a medium size sauce pan. Bring to a boil then simmer for 25 minutes. Let cool for at least 30 minutes.
    • Once ingredients are cooled, place all ingredients into a pitcher and stir. Option to garnish with additional lemon slices, mint and peaches. Cheers!
