There are few things more enjoyable than a spiced punch during the fall months, especially during the holidays or a family get together.
A simple drink made with spiced rum, grand marnier, cinnamon pear syrup, lemon and seltzer - it is my favorite drink to sip on while spending time with my family or cozying up by the fireplace.
The best part about this rum punch is you cannot taste the alcohol! It is incredible refreshing, and tastes like the holidays in a cup.
It is a little sweet from the cinnamon pear syrup, and a little spicey from the spiced rum and cloves. This pear drink is absolutely delicious and perfect for autumn.
I have been tasked with making the cocktails for Thanksgiving each year. I usually stick with sangria (and I still will this year), but I wanted to branch out a little more this year. Pitcher drinks are a must for holidays - easy to share, easy to please everyone.
Most pitcher drinks are super sweet, and wine based. Which, if that is what you like, go for it, but I do not always love that. Too much of a hangover in a cup.
This easy to make Spiced Pear Fall Punch is so much lighter and refreshing, which I look for in a drink.
Let me show you how simple it is to make.
Ingredients For The Best Fall Spiced Pear Punch:
This drink is made with spiced rum (we used Captain Morgan), grand marnier, cinnamon, pears, cloves, sugar, water, lemon and seltzer. That is it! Under 10 simple ingredients.
But, not only does this drink have simple ingredients, it is incredible easy to make.
How to Make The Pear Cinnamon Simple Syrup:
Making the simple syrup is incredible easy. You must first cut the pears into large chunks. Then, all you need to do is place the sugar, water, cloves, pears into a saucepan and allow it to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes in the fridge. It is that simple.
How to Make This Pear Cocktail:
In a large pitcher, add the unstrained simple syrup, lemon chunks, rum, grand marnier and seltzer then stir. Once stirred, add in ice.
We used a large glass pitcher, but any pitcher works well.
You are done! Seriously, that is it.
Why We Love this Fall Punch
Refreshing - This pear, lemon and seltzer makes this drink incredibly refreshing, especially when you are cozy next to the fire place or in a warm thanksgiving day kitchen.
Festive - The cinnamon and cloves makes this drink taste like the holidays in a glass.
Boozy - This drink is perfect if you need a slight buzz to sit through a family gathering (I am just being honest!). I swear, you cannot taste the alcohol! It may be a little dangerous.
How to Garnish This Autumn Cocktail:
I added pear slices into the glass and some lemon slices. Then, I placed ice in the cup and garnished with cinnamon sticks! I also sprinkled some cloves on top!
Substitutions For Spiced Pear Rum Punch:
Alcohol - You can sub the grand marnier for triple sec or another orange liquor.
Seltzer - I used raspberry lime because that is what I had on hand. You can use plain, cranberry or orange.
Sugar - I used sugar in the raw. You can use regular sugar or any alternative to white sugar.
Fruit - You may add in cranberry, orange slices or whatever else you think would pair well.
How to Store the Fall Rum Punch:
If you need to make this tasty fall cocktail ahead of time - no problem. Do not add the ice and place it in the fridge until you are ready to enjoy it! Then, simply add in the ice!
