And do not worry, this recipe takes very little time to make. Especially if you are using pre-brewed espresso.
Why We Love an Iced Oat Milk Latte
Quick and Easy- This recipe has four steps and does not take a whole lot of time. In fact, if you premake your espresso or use pre-made espresso, it will cut the time down to 2 minutes.
Customizable - I have added a plethora of substitutions and add ons to truly make this latte what you want and need! Whether you want seasonal, sweetened or just simple, I have you covered.
Energy Filled - What is a better way to get your caffeine fill than with a delicious latte? This is a gentle way to get your caffeine fill.
Creamy - This latte is overwhelmingly creamy due to the oat milk. It truly feels like a barista made it for you! Oat milk has a creamier “vibe” to it making this latte a true dream.
Cost Saving & Eco Friendly - An oat milk latte usually costs over $3 and requires some sort of paper or plastic cup (unless you are using a re-usable one!). Ditch the cost and the wasted cup and make your own.

What Is In This Iced Oat Milk Latte
To make this iced oat milk latte you will need the following ingredients: espresso; oat milk; ice; and vanilla extract (optional).
How To Make It
Making this latte is extremely easy!
If you are making your espresso, brew it first then allow it to cool. I do not recommend adding ice cubes to it, as it will water down the espresso.
Simply place a cup of espresso in the freezer for 10 minutes and you will be fine!
Place your oat milk in your glass and froth it. I have added numerous options for frothing in the “Tips” section.
Then, add in your vanilla extract and stir.
Fill the glass with ice.
Finally, add in your expresso and stir again.
See my section below for tips on how to froth, as well as add ons to truly customize this drink.
How to Froth Oat Milk That is Iced
While this is not required in any way for your recipe, it definitely adds a nice little touch. It also will make this feel more like the “real deal” from a coffee shop.
The easiest way to froth iced milk is to use a handheld frother. I use this frother from Zulays, but any handheld frother will do (pro tip- order batteries). It was really affordable, and I use it often. If you make lattes at home or plan to, I recommend getting one.
If you do not have a handheld frother, you can also use a mason jar to shake the oat milk until it is frothy. In fact, I suggest you shake it with the ice to give it a full “shaken iced latte” feel to it. This is the truest laziest method, and I am here for it.
If you want the feel of froth, but do not have a mason jar or a handheld frother, you may also use a blender. Simply add the oat milk to the blender, and blend for 20 seconds.
Tips and Substitutions
Substitutions
My preference for oat milk is that is creamy. I find that this makes my latte taste better. Willa’s is my go-to for oat milk, as they do not have additives or gums and their milk is all-natural. It is the best for vegan latte recipes.
Espresso - you can also use very strong coffee or cold brew coffee works as well. Substitute as a 1-1 ratio.
Vanilla Extract - I add vanilla extract to add more flavor up the latte and add some flavor. You may use any flavoring you like, such as coffee syrups.
If you enjoy sweeter lattes, you can add in your favorite sweetener. I prefer to use maple syrup in mine, but sugar, stevia, or any other sweetener works just as well.
If you prefer to have a less watered-down latte, you can make ice cubes out of oat milk or espresso to ensure the integrity of your latte remains.
Time Saving Hacks & Storing
This latte is best served right away. If you want to cut down on time then make the espresso or coffee ahead of time then combined it with oat milk and ice. The espresso will keep well for 24 hours.
If you seem to not be able to finish your iced oat milk latte once you have made it - do not worry. Simply remove the ice and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. If you do not remove the ice, the latte will become watered down.
Add-Ins and Additions
I love to customize my lattes! Other than the tips I provided above regarding caffeine type, flavoring and sweeteners, here are fun options for every season.
Summer - Since this is an iced latte, is likely you are drinking it in the summer. I usually drink this with nothing added to it.
However, some fun favorites are beetroot powder, matcha or blended banana.
Fall - I always love warm spices in the summer. Add in some brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice!
In fact, you can add 1 tbsp of pumpkin puree before frothing and it will be delicious.
Winter - Peppermint Mocha anyone? Add in 1-2 tbsp of cocoa powder or melted chocolate and some peppermint drops (or candy canes, why not!) then mix it up.
If you are a fan of gingerbread lattes, add in ½ tbsp of molasses and some cinnamon.
Spring - Adding a little lavender extract to this latte makes it the ultimate spring drink.
Also, adding 1 tsp of turmeric will make this latte anti-inflammatory!
