This vegan hot chocolate dessert board is full of vegan delicious treats and is sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next party or a weekend night in with your kids. Filled with vegan marshmallows, rich and creamy vegan hot chocolate and so many topping to pick from, everyone will enjoy making their own hot chocolate creations!
There is nothing more attractive at a party than a charcuterie board. Charcuterie boards allow you to give your guests a variety of food options, guaranteeing that everyone will have something. I have seen a plethora of these grazing boards, whether it be full of vegan snacks or kicking it old school with meat and cheeses.
Dessert Charcuterie Board
Adding a dessert twist to them is too much fun. Instead of bringing out the normal cookies or cake, this dessert grazing board is so much more fun! This vegan hot chocolate charcuterie board is so easy to make, and you can truly put anything you wish on it! What makes it even more special is that you can truly make it your own: gluten free; vegan; nut free; etc.
I had a blast putting together my allergy friendly charcuterie board. I picked toppings and dunking items that I enjoy the most to place on this dessert grazing board.
Assembling The Dessert Grazing Board
As I stated, you really can put anything you want on this board! The main ingredients for this was hot chocolate.
Vegan Hot Chocolate - I made a vegan hot chocolate using melted vegan hot, warmed almond milk, a pinch of sugar in the raw and a splash of vegan creamer. Mix together and boom - you are done.
As for toppings located on this hot chocolate charcuterie board, there are a plethora of them!
Vegan Whip Cream - I added a vegan whip cream, which you may find at many groceries stores. Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Stop and Shop all carry vegan whip cream. You may also make your own by whipping hardened coconut milk (from a can).
Marshmallows - I used Dandies brand marshmallows, which you may get on Amazon or Whole Foods. Home Cooked Roots, a fabulous vegan blogger and friend of mine, also created a vegan marshmallow recipe, you can find here.
Candy Canes- I crushed my candy canes because I enjoy adding them on top of my whip cream! Make sure to use ones that do not have any animal byproduct (watch out for that red food coloring!).
Coconut Shreds - They look just like snow on the "floor" of your dessert grazing board, and add a little tropical feel to the drink!
Extra Chocolate - Do not forget to add extra dark chocolate and extra dark chocolate cocoa powder for anyone who enjoys to add a little more chocolate to their cocoa.
Then, you may notice there are million items to dunk into the vegan hot chocolate as well. These dunkers are just as important!
Cookies- I added pre-made vegan shortbread cookies with a vegan chocolate filling. I also added Nabisco graham crackers (they are honey free).
Cinnamon Sticks - Who does not like a little kick of spice in their chocolate? Powdered cinnamon will work just as well.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch - This is not the most common thing to have with hot chocolate, but it makes it a lot of fun.
Other options - You may add so much to the board, but some options I thought of are - sea salt, vegan caramel sauce, peppermint sticks, vegan chocolate truffles or hot chocolate bombs.
Adult Hot Chocolate Grazing Board
Do you want to make this hot chocolate charcuterie board more ... boozy? This adult hot chocolate charcuterie board includes rum! Of course, you may also use peppermint schnapps or vodka, chocolate or vanilla vodka, baileys, Kahlua, and whatever else you enjoy with your hot chocolate!
Serving the Vegan Hot Chocolate Board
This board is large and perfect for a group up to 8. If you have additional friends coming over, double up on the treats if you think they will be hungrier!
If you have a smaller group, feel free to add less.
My suggestion is to leave the hot chocolate in a separate, thermal container to keep it warm and have guests pour it themselves to keep it hot! Then, they can load up on the good stuff.
I also used my coffee mugs for this, but if you don't want too much of a clean up - grab some recycled paper cups to serve it with.
Other Tasty Cocktails:
- Cookie Butter Cocktail
- Spiced Cranberry Orange Spritz
- Cranberry Vanilla Chai Sangria
- Spiced Pear Punch
- Spiced Pear Prosecco
- Apple Pie Mezcal Margarita
