These cookie bars are close to my heart. I used to make the dairy version of them in law school often when running for student council or whatever else I was doing at that time.

These dessert bars mean so much to me that I knew I needed to "veganize" them ASAP so I could share them with everyone.

I tested this recipe through and through to ensure they taste just like the non-vegan version. After a couple of mishaps, I have perfected these vegan slutty brownies.

They are gooey, rich and crunchy - everything I want in a recipe.

Plus, they are easy to make because, of course, I would never provide you with anything but lazy vegan recipes!

    What are Vegan Slutty Brownies?

I am not sure why these cookie bars are named slutty. After much research regarding the origin of the non-vegan Oreo bars, I still cannot confidently tell you why this is their name.

However, I can tell you what they are...

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie mixed with Oreos and Vegan Brownies. These brownies will never force you to make the hard decision; cookie or brownie?

They are the perfect combination of two classic flavors, with a bonus of cookie dough texture, leaving absolutely nothing to be desired by your sweet tooth!

It is extremely hard to improve upon the regular chocolate chip cookie or regular brownie, but vegan slutty brownies truly do that. They are so satisfying, I can assure you, it will hard to go back to regular cookies or brownies.

Why is This Vegan Cookie Bar So Irresistible ?

Gooey -These bars slightly resemble the form of cookie dough. They basically melt in your mouth.

In fact, they are so gooey, I have to serve them in a cupcake liner because they lack the integrity to stand alone. It is hard not to lick the spoon when making these!

Full of Chocolate Flavor- While these vegan brownie bars are a mix of chocolate chip cookies and brownies, the chocolate flavor truly shines through.

The fudgy chocolate brownie topic melted into the rich Oreo and then mixes well with the chocolate chip cookie causing it to be a total flavor explosion.

Buttery Goodness- Who does not want that mouth watering butter flavor when eating any dessert?!

Vegan slutty brownies have that great buttery taste to them, so much so that they will leave a little buttery residue on your hands for you to lick off.

    Ingredients For Vegan Brownie Bars

To make these vegan slutty brownies, you will need the following ingredients: flour; cocoa powder; brown sugar; castor / granulated sugar; plant based milk; salt; baking soda; vanilla extract; vegan butter; oreos; and dairy free chocolate chips.

You will also need a bread tin.

Tips For Making These Mouth-Watering Cookie Brownies

Vegan slutty brownies are so simple to make. If you know how to make cookies and brownies, you basically are already there.

A key thing to keep in mind is that both the brownie batter and cookie dough are moldable and a dough-like form (unlike traditional brownie batter, which is liquid-like in its texture).

It is also important to make sure you make both batters separately, as you will layer this vegan cookie bar.

Once you are done making the the two separate doughs you will then layer the dough in the bread tin.

Layering is possibly the only complicated portion of this recipe. Think of building a lasagna.

First, you will mold the cookie dough to the bottom of your bread pan. It is likely you will need to press the dough down with your fingers to flatten it out.

Then, layer your Oreos. You will layer one layer of Oreos.

Finally, you will put your brownie batter on top. Because it is a dough-like texture, you will need to press it down to fit the pan and mold it accordingly.

Keep in mind, these are small batch so if you want more, double this recipe and use a casserole dish!

    Storing The Bars

These vegan slutty brownies will stay fresh for up to 7 days in an air tight container in room temperature.

If it is warmer in your house (my kitchen in the summer can get pretty toasty) store these vegan cookie bars in the fridge.

Because they are moist, they will go bad in too warm of weather.

    Freezing Option

You can freeze these slutty brownies for up to one month in a freezer safe bag or container.

You may also freeze the cookie dough batter and the brownie batter in a freezer safe bag, separately, prior to making the treats for up to two months.

    FAQ

My slutty brownies seem undercooked, is this normal?

Yes, slutty brownies are gooey! They will not seem fully baked, and that is the point. They should resemble a gooey, but baked brownie, and the cookie portion will seem on the melty side.

May I exclude Oreos from my slutty brownies?

Yes, simply layer the brownie batter on top of the cookie dough. You do not need to change anything else.

Are these vegan slutty brownie easy to make?

Yes, they are! They take less than an hour to prep and bake.

    • Slowly pour in the wet ingredients and continue to mix until a dough begins to form. The dough will be soft and moldable.

    • In the seperate, meduim sized mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients, other than the chocolate chips. Mix well.
    • Slowly pour in the wet ingredients and continue to mix until a dough begins to form. The dough will be soft and moldable.
    • Add in the chocolate chips and continue to mix until they are well combined. If you do not have an electric mixer, you may need to use your hands.
    • Begin layering your slutty brownie bars. First, mold your cookie dough into the bottom of the bread tin. Do this by placing the cookie dough into the tin and pressing it down with your hand until an even layer forms.
    • Next, layer your oreos. Place an even layer of oreos to cover the entire cookie dough layer. You may need to break some oreos in half to make them properly fit.
    • Next, layer on your brownie batter. You will do this the same way you layered the cookie dough.
    • Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
    • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Slutty brownies will look somewhat raw, as they are a gooey cookie bar. They are fully cooked.

    Notes

If you would like to use a casserole dish or a pie sheet, double the recipe.

Layer the slutty brownies like a lasagna.

Make sure you use vegan cocoa powder. I use Hershey dark chocolate.

Hi! I don’t see sugar for the brownie layer-just the tablespoon of brown sugar. How much granulated sugar is needed for the brownie layer? Thanks
